Overview

Chestr is a free, intuitive Chrome extension that transforms the online shopping experience. It lets users save products from any store with a single click and automatically notifies them of price drops, ensuring they never miss a deal. As a founding designer, I spearheaded the creation of the first iteration of our iOS app while also refining the web and extension experiences. My contributions focused on crafting a seamless, engaging user journey that simplifies product tracking and enhances discovery.

Problem Statement

Online shoppers often struggle with disorganized and inefficient methods for tracking their favorite products, which leads to missed opportunities and a frustrating online shopping experience. Users resort to taking screenshots, copy-pasting links, or keeping numerous tabs open, resulting in clutter and lost deals.

➊ Fragmented Tracking: Shoppers use inconsistent methods (screenshots, links, multiple tabs) that make it hard to locate and manage saved products.

➋ Missed Savings: Without automated alerts, users often overlook price drops and discounts on items they’re interested in.

➌ Inefficient Organization: The lack of a centralized system forces users to manually curate and sift through their saved items.

✦ Growing User Base: Chestr now has over 3,000 active users, highlighting its strong market acceptance and ongoing engagement. High User Satisfaction: With a 4.5 rating on the Chrome Store, users are clearly satisfied with Chestr’s performance and overall experience.

✦ Successful Product Hunt Launch: The product launch on Product Hunt garnered 240+ upvotes and was ranked as the 5th product of the day, demonstrating high initial interest and community support.

Final Thoughts

Although active development on Chestr has been discontinued, the future holds exciting possibilities. Integrating advanced LLMs could further personalize recommendations, enhance search capabilities, and streamline user interactions. By harnessing the power of AI, there’s significant potential to transform the platform into a more intuitive and dynamic tool for online shopping.
